SGI UMC Prison Ministry
In Matthew 25:39, 40, our Lord encourages us to visit the “sick, and in prison.” While
visiting the sick comes intuitively for us, visiting our brothers and sisters in prison often
requires some forethought. The Prison Ministry is designed to reach the least of these,
our brothers and sisters who are incarcerated. Anyone interested in sharing a gift may
elect to lead or participate in classes such as Bible study, Substance Abuse Classes for Men,
AA, Anger Management, Christian Yoga for Women, or a bi-monthly worship service at the
Franklin jail or local Franklin Correctional Institute. There is a short application process.
