Dear Friends in Christ,
As you know, a storm is headed our way.
Our church has recently adopted a disaster plan. According to this plan, we will close if Franklin County authorities issue a mandatory evacuation notice. Additionally, if the church loses power and it cannot be restored before our worship services, we will also need to close. There may be other reasons for closure as well.
In case of inclement weather, please check the church’s website, sgiumc.org, and Facebook page for updates. Members of the church disaster team will try to communicate by cell phone. However, if power, internet, and cell phones are down, please look for a notice posted on the church entrances.
If there is no closure announcement, we will be open.
